Goldray's Green Initiatives

At Goldray, we take our obligation to the environment seriously. In addition to making our products as environmentally sustainable as possible, we have taken steps to run our company in a more environmentally friendly way. We understand that every action has an impact and that even small changes can help to change people's perceptions about the environment. We are confident that this will lead to lasting change.

REDUCE

Paper Goldray introduced an electronic tracking system and significantly reduced paper usage in the factory.
Plastics New equipment as been installed and plant processes improved to reduce plastic consumption in the factory by 30%.
Printing All Goldray literature is currently purchased from a printing company certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. The paper stock is certified from well-managed forests, controlled sources and recycled wood or fiber. We also offer electronic versions of all of our technical information and brochures for those who do not wish to have printed copies.
Glass Samples Goldray has implemented a "green" glass sample system to reduce the amount of waste generated in this area.
Metals and Toxins We have eliminated the use of leaded pigments in coatings and significantly reduced the use of toxic chemicals in our processes.
Waste to Landfill Our internal recycling program has reduced the amount that we send to the landfill by approximately 50%.

 

REUSE

Water In 2009 Goldray is installing a water treatment system designed to reuse approximately 90% of the water currently consumed in our factory processes.
Paper Towels Wherever possible in both the office and factory, cotton towels which are cleaned and reused are used in place of paper towels.
Skids and Pallets Goldray currently reuses 80% of the skids and pallets that we receive.

 

RECYCLE

Paper Goldray recycles all types of paper used in both the office and factory. As well, only recycled paper is purchased, thereby helping to further the supply and demand of recycled paper products.
Plastic All plastic used in the office and factory are sent to the recycling center.
Cardboard All cardboard used in the office and factory is sent to the recycling center.
Toner Goldray recycles all of its toner cartridges and purchases recycled cartridges.
Glass All glass (with the exception of laminated or painted glass) is sent to the recycling center and made into glass beads which are then added to road paint to give it reflective properties.
Lumber A lumber recycling program is scheduled to be implemented in 2009.
