The Story
Within the conference room at Total Dermatology, laminated glass featuring a digitally printed frit pattern inspired by rice paper was used to introduce texture and subtle privacy while maintaining the openness of glass partitions.
Conference rooms require a balance between transparency and discretion. While glass partitions support visual openness and allow light to flow through a space, fully transparent glazing can limit privacy during meetings and collaborative discussions.
Goldray fabricated laminated glass panels incorporating a custom digital frit interlayer that replicates the soft, diffused appearance of rice paper.
The printed pattern creates a layered, textured visual effect that gently obscures views while still allowing light to pass through. This approach maintains the strength and durability of laminated glass while offering a more controlled level of privacy.
The result is a refined balance between openness and privacy within the conference room. The subtle pattern adds visual interest and warmth, complementing the contemporary interior design of the clinic, while demonstrating how digital printing techniques can achieve the aesthetic of organic materials with greater consistency and performance in architectural applications.
